COVID-19 FAQ

COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

In what has become known as the “new” normal, we’re all trying to restore a sense of normality while continually working to keep ourselves and the people around us safe. Since opening, we’ve received a lot of questions around how the pub is run. To help everyone adjust — and hopefully to reassure you that the Red Lion experience is just as wonderful as it was before — we’ve compiled this list of Frequently Asked Questions!

Q: Do I need to book to get into the pub?

A: No. While we do recommend booking to ensure you get a seat, we are accepting walk-ins, regardless of whether you’re sitting down for a meal or just popping in for a few pints.

Q: Can I book a table if I’m just coming in for a drink?

A: Yes, we will take your booking even if you’re only coming in for a single drink.

Q: What’s the best way to book?

A: We’re all so busy at the pub that we can rarely make it to the phone these days. Please book using our online platform which can be found on our website.

Q: What’s the maximum number I can book a table for?

A: Since the introduction of the government’s “Rule of 6” the maximum table booking number is now limited to 6 people total.

Q: How long can I occupy a booked table for?

A: We have capped every table booking at 3 hours maximum, unless previous arranged through email.

Q: Are you accepting cash?

A: No — we are running a purely cashless service.

Q: Can I stand at the bar and get a drink?

A: Unfortunately not. To comply to the government’s safety standards, we are running a fully seated table service. We will take your orders and bring your drinks straight to your table. We also now have the Swifty app available, which we highly recommend for anyone coming in for a drink as it will streamline your service significantly.

Q: Do I need to wear a mask?

A: No, you don’t need to wear a mask anywhere in the restaurant.
